Frequently Asked Questions

How do I get started?

1. Open SoloBot and swipe right to open the sidebar.

2. Tap Settings → Manage Local Models.

3. Download any model (we recommend starting with the smallest one, ~800MB).

4. Once downloaded, the model loads automatically. Go back to the chat screen and start talking!

Does SoloBot require an internet connection?

Only for the initial model download. Once a model is on your device, SoloBot works completely offline — even in airplane mode. No Wi-Fi or cellular data needed for conversations.

Is my data private?

Absolutely. SoloBot runs AI models entirely on your iPhone using the device's Neural Engine. Your conversations never leave your phone — there are no servers, no cloud storage, no analytics, and no tracking of any kind.

How much storage do models require?

Models range from approximately 800MB to 5GB depending on the model's capability and size. You can download and delete models at any time from the Model Management screen.

Which iPhone models are supported?

SoloBot requires an iPhone with at least 4GB of RAM running iOS 17.4 or later. This includes iPhone 12 and newer. Models are automatically filtered based on your device's available memory to ensure smooth performance.

Can I delete my conversation history?

Yes. You can delete individual conversations from the sidebar, or use Settings → Clear All Data to remove all conversations, downloaded models, and app data at once.

The model download seems stuck. What should I do?

Model files are large, so downloads may take several minutes depending on your connection. If a download seems stuck:

1. Check your internet connection.

2. Pause and resume the download.

3. If the issue persists, delete the partial download and try again.

Downloads continue in the background even if you switch apps.

Is SoloBot a replacement for therapy?

No. SoloBot is an AI companion designed for emotional reflection, journaling, and casual conversation. It is not a substitute for professional medical, psychological, or psychiatric care. If you are experiencing a mental health crisis, please contact emergency services or a qualified professional immediately.
